“Saved An Omegaverse Paranormal Mpreg Romance By Odin”

I read a very wide range of books, and I bought this one thinking it would be a trashy novella, a light flimsy read after finishing a heavy series. I was absolutely shocked, because this novella is really well written. Everything about this book at first glance, the themes, the tags, the premise, even the blurb, appearance and the author’s alias promises trash, and instead the writing is fairly high quality, with solid characters that originate from a very cliche archetype but which are multilayered and nuanced. Even the very standard Alpha-meets-fated-mate plot is executed surprisingly well, with the central relationship being dynamic and determined by the interaction of the two main characters, who are both struggling with a sexual attraction that is foisted on them by their wolves. The underlying sense of realism in the characters, their point of view, and the world in which the story occurs, really set the story and its drama apart from melodramatic romantic renditions of similar plots.
So I have only recently heard about Omegaverse stories, and my first thought was shifters right? Oh how wrong I was. While having a conversation with Marc and Dana, they informed me that while Omegaverse books have Alphas, Omegas and Betas sometimes, there is no shifting. Wait wait, no people shifting into animals? I was intrigued, so both Marc and Dana recommended an Omegaverse book they both loved I did get it but when I saw it had mpreg in it I put it on the back burner. Why you ask? Well I am not the biggest mpreg fan, they just are not the trope that I usually go for.
After a while, the sweatshirt Spy was wearing was removed as it had become far too hot and sweaty for him to wear. He was given water as he’d had no liquids all day, but turned down food since he wasn’t hungry.
When his alpha father found out, all hell broke loose. Threatened with the loss of his inheritance, I knew he would choose me over riches. But I couldn’t allow that. I didn’t deserve him. So, I did the only thing I could think of:
Adam having seen how much energy it takes to birth a baby, decided to rest and gather his strength until it was time. The other man started walking around his hut placing a blanket on the sandy floor for the eggs that would come out of the man. As minutes turned into hours, Adam could see the other man getting tired as he started pacing.

In a tribe of stallion shifters, Alvarr is smaller and more delicate than the rest of the herd. But he is also a rare stallion mage, a male horse shifter who can perform magic – a talent only found in mare shifters. The other herd members mistrust…
Adam couldn’t help but scream as he felt the strongest contraction hit him so far. However he was glad when the other man pulled the egg that was stuck out, until he felt the next egg coming. As he started to push, he suddenly realized two eggs were coming out side by side instead of just one.
Sherlock is the “mortal” form of the god Thoth, the god of wisdom. He grows lonely in his palace and forms a harem with four teens. But what happens when betrayel, lies, jealousy, and a dark force come into the mix?
An hour later both Sam and little Mary Joan Winchester were both asleep. Sam had bought a few articles of unisex, baby clothing. It turned out that little Mary was shy and didn’t show her sex through the ultrasound; the clothes were kinda big for her but that’s all they had at the moment. There was also a little, white bassinet by Sam’s bed where he had laid down their newborn daughter.
In a surprising (to me) twist, the male omega had a cock, an ass that was breedable, but no testicles. At first I was surprised and a bit disappointed by this, as one of the reasons I like omegaverse stories is the male-male action, especially leading to pregnancy.  I’m already a bit hesitant about some of this genre, as Alphas are often hyper-masculine and, except for their equipment, the male omegas often take on very traditionally feminine roles.  Although I very much appreciate gender-challenging characters, I am also a bit disappointed when it’s always the top, Alpha who takes on the masculine roles and the receptive, bottom, omega who takes on traditionally female roles.  (Also, tops that constantly penetrate their male partner but who never let a bottom near their own entrance is a particular turn off of mine, but par for the course in omegaverse novels.) When these roles are so strongly separated, it seems to me one might as well write male/female stories.
Kim nodded, “Yes, your magic has been unstable because of your pregnancy, and because of this, it is hard to control. I had suspected that you would go into labor before the due date because of your magical state, but didn’t think it would be this early.” With a small movement of her wand, a bag floated over towards her.
The egg was pushed out a little more, then when he bore down hard his gray eyes snapped open wide and he gasped, the egg having been pushed out completely and into his pants. “I-It’s out!” He lifted himself into standing straight again and clutched his stomach, frozen where he stood.
Eight years ago, Eli gave up his future as a veterinarian because of a blue line on a pregnancy test. Now a single dad to the best little boy in the world, he’s working at an animal shelter and trying his hardest to ignore the small town gossip that follows him and his son around. Contrary to popular belief, he does know who the other father is – the irresistible alpha from his youth. But Matt’s upper class family doesn’t think an omega is good enough for their son.

No, not a rock.  A large black bird.  That was what had fallen right out of the sky.  With horror, the mage realized that this one had been long dead, which meant that there was more than one bird death.
Braxon HicksWarning: Contains Mpreg, yaoi, swearing. So, if you don’t like reading either of these, then DON’T read it! Simples I also do not own the characters Kyle and Stan; they belong the the owners of South Park Matt Stone and Trey Parker. Enjoy!~
Strands of my hair stuck to my forehead; I was sweating, more than I have ever before. Drips of sweat fell down my temples as I regained my posters and steadied my breathing. I tossed my head back from exhaustion as I felt the contraction to build up again. I bore down and gave a gentle push, and I felt the baby’s head slowly begin to slide out of me.
My interest was even more piqued when I read the author’s introduction in which she names the current political situation in the US and Leta’ Blake’s Slow Heat (a book I thoroughly loved) as major inspirations.
Aiden can be hit or miss for me; sometimes the characters can be real jerks. Not this book! First it’s the longest book I’ve read by Aiden, and definitely worth the cost. The book really held my interest with the plot. It was a new perspective on Omegas fighting terrorism and the SEAL aspect was really cool. This was a really well written book and I highly recommend grabbing this series.
The faun never spoke. Roth wasn’t so sure it could. Instead, the creature just came to inspect him. Spindly fingers palpated his flesh, poking and prodding, earning small pokes back here and there. Roth cringed and pretended he hadn’t felt that. A floppy ear came to rest atop the heavy swell, listening carefully. When the faun pulled back, Roth wasn’t surprised to see the disappointment on the creature’s face. It made the same face for the last five days. Roth knew what that meant. Whatever was growing inside him wasn’t good enough yet. Perhaps it wasn’t big enough, or maybe the amount was too few. The human could never tell. He just knew what was coming next.
Spy just gazed down at her. She continued to wriggle and cry as he held her. She was so small, she fit perfectly into both his hands. She had all of Sniper’s features, she was practically the spitting image of him. She still had her umbilical cord attatched. Spy felt a wave of emotions overcome him all at once. His vision blurred, tears streamed down his face and he realized he was crying. Suddenly he became aware of Sniper standing next to him. He looked up, and saw that he was crying too.
Castiel smiled as he held the celestial being in his arms and he felt his grace melt when those blue orbs met his. He held the being close to him for a moment before slowly handing it over to Dean, who was just staring with wide, adoring eyes.
When he figured his break had lasted long enough, he hefted himself back up out of the coral and stretched, groaning with delight as his back cracked. Turning upright, he continued to swim, swimming a little closer toward the surface as he felt along his gravid stomach. It’d been a long day of swimming, although he was glad to get up and moving.
